| Hello all. I wanted to ask why doesn't Sangan's effect activate if it was in an XYZ as a material. I mean, in any case, it was on the field, so how come the effect does not occur? Thanks. | |

| This is because XYZ materials are not considered being on the field. Card like Sangan do not get theire effect activated if sent to the Graveyard as an materials are XYZ material because they are not considered being on the field.
If you have a card like Dandylion, which activates if sent to the graveyard, as an XYZ material and you detach it, its effect will activate because it does not specify from where it should be sent to the Graveyard in order to be activated.
Just remember that XYZ materials are not considered being on the field.

| not to really rain on gianus giant parade, most people dont xyz with sangan unless they got no other choice. when they get sangan from tour guide, 99% of the time they wouldnt overlay for a rank 3.
dandylion is a excellent card to overlay for rank 3
